Why learn Space Entrepreneurship?
The Space Economy’s Next Giant Leap
Space Economy as a worldwide phenomenon , involving both individuals, Industries and Space Agencies. Morgan Stanley’s Space Team estimates that the roughly $350 billion global space industry could surge to over $1 trillion by 2040.
It’s estimated that there are now more than 10,000 firms and around 5,000 investors involved in the space industry:The venture capital funding for global space-tech companies has reached $6.2 Billion.
Although the ‘Space unicorns’ have caught the eye of the media, hundreds of other new startups, operating in the Space Sector have been created in the past decade, enhancing the potential of space entrepreneurship.
Space is the new economic frontier, included by the G20 as one of the 22 priorities of its agenda. A growing number of “New Space” companies, together with Space Agencies and entrepreneurs, are building a new business model.
Live Online Classes with Lectures from Industry.
At the Space Economy Academy, the number of students do not exceed 10 people per class. The course takes place 100% online, live and during weekends, increasing the flexibility of the participants. With small classes, lecturers customize the content to satisfy students needs.
The online lectures allow students to learn from everywhere, accessing the courses through the SEAC E-learning Platform, to wich each student have access to his or her individual page. And for those who are not able to attend the classes in live, each session is recorded and available offline.
The course includes two parts: before attending the live classes, students will receive a self-paced training about key space subjects through the E-Learning platform, where they will be able to download study material as created by our experts (Excels, Words, PowerPoint presentations). Through the e-learning platform, students also have the option to address individual questions to the lecturers and receive offline answers
A team of experienced leaders from various industries, agencies and Forbes list makers guide students and alumni in the exploration of market opportunities and in the process of Business incubation and acceleration, to develop or grow the business in the Space Sector
The key lecturers of this course are Chiara Cocchiara, Space Leader and Forbes 30u30, and Adrian Saez, Finance expert. They will be guiding the students through the online live classes, while other experts from the Space Industry provide the self-paced pre-recorded lectures.

Focus
The core lectures focus on two aspects: the first area is more technical and focus on the understanding of the Space subjects, the Space technologies, downstream and upstream segments; the second area focuses on the entrepreneurial aspect, studying topics such as finance, marketing, investments, Profit and Loss, EBIDTA, revenues and interests.
The course is 7 weeks long, where students are exposed to an international environment and faculty, for an inspirational learning comparing with lecturers and peers froms all over the world.
In the first part of the course – Self paced
Students will attend pre-recorded modules, for self paced learning. These modules provide the students with the tools to understand Innovation and the applications in the Space Sector.
Pre-recorded modules also provide the students with the key elements of entrepreneurship, definition and applications,understanding successful strategies, and skills that students need to develop. In the leadership module, students learn how to face challenges understress, pressure and self-demanding situations, that would prevent students from giving their best and being as efficient as they would like to be.
Two last modules focus on the regulations, as part of the Space Law and International Space Policy module, and on the cyber threats in the Space Sector, how to protect your infrastructure, key tools and processes.
In the second part of the course – Project Work.
Students will be guided by experts in the areas of Finance, Space operations, and entrepreneurship through live classes using the zoom application. Each live workshops and mentoring provides practical work that include the development of individual business plans, financials and strategic plans.
The project work focuses on learning how to transform your idea into an investmentworthy company. What is my Story? What makes my solution unique? How do you want to reach your target group? Learn how to prepare a Profit and Loss, and show the numbers to get the attention of the investors.
As a final exercise you will develop a Power Point presentation to introduce your Startup to external investors and raise fundings. Develop an elevator pitch deck with other international students and peers complementing your skills with other

Lecturer
Adrian Saez is an economist at Santander Asset Management, with over 10 years of experience in the Industrial and Bank Sector. With a Master in Business and administration, a Degree in Economics, and an accounting certification, he is one of the Board members of the SEAC Business School.
