New threats arise in the Space Sector and the need to protect your infrastructure require the intervention of powerful tools and processes, as part of the Cyber Security.

International regulations are complicated by the need to be compatible with national Space legislation, which currently are different depending on the geographical area where they are applied.

      The Program is built of two main modules to cover the growing demand for business education in the field. Get exposed to real challenges explained by experienced leaders across a variety of industries, and gain the tools and skills to drive into the Space Business.

      INTRODUCTION TO INTERNATIONAL SPACE LAW: SPACE TREATIES I

      What will you learn:

      This module provides you with the initial understanding about International Space Law. What are the needs, drivers and constraints? You will also learn about the Outer Space Treaty and the main principles which apply to it.

      Modules Details:

      • Origin of Space Law
      • UN COPUOS
      • Creation of space treaties
      • The Outer Space Treaty and the main principles

      What will you learn:

      In this module you will navigate the details of the Space Treaties, with their agreements and convention. You will explore both agreements related to Earth Observation, as well as Lunar Agreements. Why do we talk about soft law?

      • The Rescue Agreement
      • The Liability Convention
      • The Registration Convention
      • The Moon Agreement
      • UN Declarations

      What will you learn:

      Talking about Space means also to talk about the need for Cyber Security. What do we mean by it? What are the main threats for Space activities? You will learn the link between Cyber Security and the need for International regulation to protect yourself and your company from cyber attacks.

      • Critical infrastructure for space activities

      What will you learn:

      Traffic in Space is an important issue, and it is becoming necessary to establish regulations to manage the issue. What is the current regime and what are the future perspectives to address the topic?

      Modules Details:

      • Elements of STM
      • STM and the current international regime
      • Analogies for a future STM system
      • Domestic laws and regulations

      What will you learn:

      International Space Policy is an important topic, whose need is understood at worldwide level. But how do International Space Regulation combine with the local space legislation? You will explore the differences between national space laws from multiple case studies, and you will understand how to combine the two levels of regulations.

      • Regulating Resource extraction

      What will you learn:

      You will be exposed to a real case scenario which need you to apply Space Regulations. You will be guided and supervised by experts of the sector.
